Here we go….is it racist, or just innocent fashion sense? Adidas’ new JS Roundhouse Mids feature a chain and shackle, and has people in a frenzy.

According to a post on Indie Wire, the chains and “shackles,” which can be connected to the consumer’s ankle, are racist. “I doubt this is what Run DMC envisioned when they rapped about their 50 pairs of Adidas way back when,” read the post. “I’m trying to picture guys and gals strutting down the street with these on. I’m sure a dissertation could probably written about these, given the group that would most likely be seen wearing these.”

Adidas had a different idea about the sneakers; they said the shoe has ”a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles.”

What do you think? Are people being racially sensitive or do they have a valid point? Is it time to move on and appreciate the shoe as art?

I’m lilD, and that’s the Word Eye Heard. I mean…it’s a dope shoe. But…it has a shackle -_-
