Def Jam R&B vocalist and songwriter Jeremih has been bubbling on the scene since his 2009 self-titled debut album. After a relatively slow start to the year, the Chicago native is hoping a new partnership with Sean “Diddy” Combs will take his career to the next level.

Rap-Up caught up with Jeremih at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles last week.  After plugging his latest single, “All The Time,” featuring Lil’ Wayne, Jeremih revealed that he’s hired Diddy as his manager.

“As of two months ago, P. Diddy and James Cruz actually took over my management,” Jeremih told Rap-Up.com. “So I’m out here doing a lot more work now. Probably, you’ll see me a lot more here [the awards show] hopefully next year getting more awards for my writing, getting a little outside my artistry.”

Jeremih added about working with Diddy: “It means a lot to me as an artist, as a writer. For Puff to acknowledge my talent and my gift, it’s a good thing.”

With his upcoming release, titled Thumpy Johnson, Jeremih revealed in the quick chat that Diddy will also serve as the executive producer for his third studio album. James Cruz is a friend and former affiliate of late music executive Chris Lighty.
