According to BallerStatus.com,

Despite rumors that he wanted to leave Cleveland, superstar Kyrie Irving has inked a five-year contract extension with the Cavaliers, worth $90 million, reports ESPN.com. It’s the maximum allowed under the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement.

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert tweeted the news early Tuesday (July 1). “Looking forward to the next 6 years of @KyrieIrving in CLE. Just shook hands &intend to sign on the 10th.Cant be more excited about @cavs,” he tweeted.

Irving tweeted his excitement as well. “I’m here for the long haul Cleveland!!! and I’m ecstatic!! Super excited and blessed to be here and apart of something special.#ClevelandKID
