According to HipHopWired.com

On Monday evening (August 11), it was reported that legendary comic and award-winning actor Robin Williams died of an apparent suicide. The public erupted in shock before the viral universe filled with grief and social media walls were plastered with famous movie quotes and nostalgic flicks.

The tragic news came only two days after the equally tragic news (if not more) of Mike Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old Black male shot and killed by Missouri police officer in Ferguson, St. Louis county. It took little to no time for our president, Barack Obama, to release an eloquent statement aimed at mourning over and paying respects to the “immeasurable talent.”

Of course, a public outcry soon followed. Members of the online community and news outlets alike criticized the leader of the free world for promptly speaking on the death of Williams and not Brown or the Ferguson riots still going on at this very moment.
