If you’re going to date/marry The-Dream, make sure it works out because you don’t want him writing a song about you.
Last week The-Dream (a.k.a. Terius Nash) released a free album called 1977, and on it he gets pretty candid on his failed marriage with Christina Milian
. He goes ‘in’ on the song, “Used to Be”, which opens with the line ‘You say I’m f*cked up, Well you might just be f*cked up to’. He continues,
You used to strip for a ni**a
Now you ain’t got nothing but lip for a ni**a
Halfway decent for me, but you dress up for your girlfriends?
Listening to what they say got your ass without a husband
Put you in a Benz, you did everything to get me
Ain’t did nothing since but keep talking about what it should be
Car note, daycare, paid all the f**king rent
Know you wanna run the world
But first, try running this
This track reminds me of a stripped-down version of R. Kelly’s “When a Woman’s Fed Up,” but this time it’s the man who’s fed up, and he’s taking no mercy. The fellas are definitely going to love this one, women…maybe not so much.
