CLEVELAND — A local college student is planning a rally Friday for the Florida teen shot and killed by a neighborhood watch captain.
Tri-C student Christina Richardson encourages people to rally outside Tower City Friday at 4 p.m.
She wants to bring awareness to the injustice and is looking for any help she can get. Christina says there will also be a march to the Justice Center.
People in Elyria are also gathering in support of Martin. It’s happening Friday night from 6-8 in Ely Square.
The organizer of the “Elyria Hoodie Rally for Trayvon Martin” are asking that folks wear a hoodie.
Trayvon Martin, 17, was unarmed when he was shot by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida almost a month ago.
Zimmerman claimed it was self-defense and has not been arrested.
