Just when you thought Martin was finally coming back to television….CBS decided to pass on the untitled pilot he had been developing for them.
he network had ordered a pilot of Lawrence’s project, a comedy about a single-dad, who at 46, loses his construction job and embarks on a new career as a police offer, in February. Former “Wonder Years” star Fred Savage had signed on to direct.
The comedy would have marked Lawrence’s return to TV after the popular sitcom “Martin,” which aired for 5 seasons in the mid-’90s on Fox.
CBS has yet to confirm its other pilot pickup decisions. The network did renew its hit comedy “Two And A Half Men” for a 10th season on Saturday. Stay tuned for more news about the network’s slate of new shows as it develops.
