Rapper/actor Kid Cudi has gotten himself a new job. He will appear in the film adaptation of the Need For Speed video game.
Cudi will have a supporting role behind Emmy winner Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”). Paul plays a street racer who enters in a race that spans from New York City to Los Angeles in order to exact revenge on the people who framed him for the murder of one of his close friends. Cudi’s role is as one of the members in Aaron Paul’s racing crew.
“Need For Speed” is being developed by DreamWorks Studios. They say the movie shoots to have a tone reminiscent of 1970s car culture. It will be directed by Scott Waugh who is known for directing “Act of Valor.” Look out for the film to hit theaters February 7, 2014.
Kid Cudi landing this movie role is a welcome distraction from all of the trouble he’s having with his record label. He recently went off on Twitter about how he gets millions of views on Youtube, but never gets any spins on the radio, while people like Trinidad James have millions of hits on Youtube and still get crazy amounts of radio love.
