Bryan Norwood, the Virginia police chief who signed off on Chris Brown‘s community service documents, resigned, TMZ reports.
The news entertainment site reports that Norwood, police chief of Richmond, was closely involved in the certification of Brown’s service hours. The L.A. district attorney claims that those hours were never performed. TMZ added that Norwood was instrumental in taking Brown’s community service supervision out of the hands of the Richmond Probation Dept. and placing it squarely in his. He also allegedly sent a letter to the court saying that Brown completed his service.
The mayor and Norwood agreed that it was time for the chief to move forward. “We’ve reached a mutual agreement that his time as Richmond Police Chief has come to an end,” said Mayor Dwight Jones. “We certainly wish Chief Norwood much luck in his endeavors going forward.”
