White House Responds To New Jay-Z Track “Open Letter” (VIDEO)

LISTEN: Jay Z “Open Letter” [NEW MUSIC]

During a White House press briefing when press secretary Jay Carneywho CNN is affectionately calling Jay C in light of the exchange…had to address the newly released “Open Letter,” where Jay-Z clears up the rumors about his trip to Cuba.

In one of the most bizarre exchanges in the White House press briefing room, a reporter read the lyrics to Carney, asking about the White House approval. And Carney, without missing a beat, hit back.

“I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury,” he said.

After being pressed about the issue, Carney added:

“I am absolutely saying that the White House and the president on down had nothing to do with anybody’s personal, anybody’s travel to Cuba,” he said. “That is something the Treasury handles.”

Carney didn’t say much else, so it’s not clear where the White House or President Barack Obama stand on the lyrics in the new song:

“I turned Havana into Atlanta… Boy from the ‘hood, I got White House clearance. ..Obama said ‘chill you gonna get me impeached.’ (But) you don’t need this – expletive – anyway. Chill with me on the beach,” the lyrics stated.

But guessing from the light-hearted exchange…doesn’t seem like the White House is too upset.

Hey, the President’s press secretary can like Jay Z too! SOURCE: CNN
