TV and radio personality Steve Harvey is known for getting emotional on his show; but, while paying tribute to his late mother during a recent taping, Harvey became so overwhelmed that he had to walk off  stage.

The “Think Like A Man, Act Like A Lady” author kicked off a week long tribute to mothers to celebrate Mother’s Day, and rightfully started with the one who gave him life. In the moving tribute to Eloise Harvey, called “Things My Mom Taught Me,” Harvey gave honor where honor is due:

I can only hope that in everything that she’s taught me — somehow she’s somewhere watching me — I hope that I’ve made her proud of the man that I’ve turned out to be, said a tearful Harvey.

As previously reported by NewsOne, the veteran comedian also broke down in tears after receiving the biggest surprise of his life during his birthday celebration in January.

“This one is a surprise. OK I said no surprises, sorry,” Harvey told his audience during the taping of his show. “This is a surprise calling in via satellite from Orlando.”

The unexpected phone call was from a man who, with one question, brought Harvey to tears:

“I just have one question, do you still love me, baby?”
