Rapper Wiz Khalifa has his wife Amber Rose to thank for paving the way for his collaboration with Adeleafter she bonded with the singer over motherhood at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Rose was pregnant with the couple’s first child as they walked the red carpet, and new mom Adele was among the guests who ran up to the mom-to-be to chat about her pregnancy glow.
“She was like, ‘Amber! Amber!’ and told her how beautiful she looked,” Khalifa tells Rap-Up.com.
The British singer eventually turned to Khalifa and the brief red carpet meeting prompted Adele’s reps to reach out to the rapper and propose plans to work together in the studio.
He adds, “Her people contacted some of my people when they found out we were working on the album and sent some ideas through, so we were able to knock some things out.”
The track is due to appear on Khalifa’s forthcoming album, “Blacc Hollywood,” which will also feature a duet with Miley Cyrus.
Rose gave birth to son Sebastian just three weeks after the Grammys.
