I grew up in Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie, just a half mile or so from where Euclid Beach was.

One evening in the later 60's, myself and two friends witnessed a very bright, almost strobe looking, light rising out of the waters of the lake about a mile or so from shore (just off the Shore Acres Allottment). It rose to an unknown height, hovered and then the light (mostly) turned off.

What was left appeared to be a series of lighted windows as if from some kind of craft (but it could have been the atmospheric conditions). In the background you could see a craft's body of sorts. It hovered there for 15-20 minutes and then slowly moved west towards downtown Cleveland. We watched until it disappeared from sight.

It has been many years and I remember it as if it was yesterday. My two friends and I still talk about it.
