Bobbi Kristina doesn’t think Lifetime should bring the story of her mother’s life to the screen unless she can star in the film.
Whitney Houston’s baby girl has some very strong thoughts about the movie, which Angela Bassett is set to direct. When news that Lifetime planned to air a Whitney biopic circulated, her family didn’t believe that it was an appropriate platform.
“Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie,” Pat Houston, told TMZ.com. “If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening.”
Despite the recent dust-ups that she’s had with her relatives, Bobbi Kristina seems to agree with their opinion that the TV biopic isn’t good enough.
“I don’t know how to feel, this so called ‘film’ isn’t in my positive thoughts,” Bobbi tweeted earlier this week. There’s only one thing that she believes would salvage the project, and it’s her Whitney-approved casting in the lead role.
Any1 would or should EVER play my mother & tell OUR story, we’ve talked MANYtimes&1&ONLY person she approved of is ME. Understand that.👍✌️❤️

Plenty of names have been tossed around as ideal castings for Whitney, but Bobbi stands by her opinion that she should play her mother in the film. That said, Bobbi isn’t totally disregarding the fans’ desire to see a movie commemorating Whitney’s life; she just doesn’t think it should move forward without her blessing.
“TRULY understand ppl want 2love&honor#HERSTORY way they think should be told,” Bobbi wrote. “I hope that answers every && ANYONES questions about it to me. You don’t have to like it, but it WILL be respected.”
