CLEVELAND – Luck was with the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland in August. Casino revenue figures for the month released Monday show the casino brought in nearly $20.5 million in revenue after all bets were paid, up 8.3 percent over August of 2013.

The boost was attributable solely to table games which were up 39 percent year to year—this despite the fact that the amount of money wagered was down $4.4 million, or nine percent. That’s because the house was luckier, paying out 77.6 percent on bets wagered compared to 85.4 percent in 2013.

That was enough to turn the month of August for the Horseshoe from their second worst of 2013 to their second best so far of 2014.
