Colin Kaepernick defiantly ignored the NFL’s new regulation that Beats By Dre headphones were outlawed on camera by sporting a bright pink pair during a postgame interview from Week 5 action.

The league was not amused by his blatant disregard for their recently enacted policy and are issuing the San Francisco 49ers quarterback a $10,000 fine for his troubles, ESPN reports. Aqua also predicted this would happen.

Bose recently became the official sponsor with the NFL, securing a multi-million deal for an undisclosed number of years. The ban against players being seen with competitor brands extends to TV interviews during pre-season, practice sessions, and on game days up until 90 minutes after the play has ended.

Pink is the official color of Breast Cancer Awareness month, but the musical mutiny just very well may have been a publicity stunt to remind the world that star players are currently endorsers for Apple’s popular headphones. When asked whether Beats would step up and pay his fine, Kaepernick replied, “I’m going to let that be unanswered.”
