“The last time JR Smith was in the NBA Playoffs, during the 2012-13 season with the Knicks, he earned himself a one game suspension for throwing an elbow at the Celtics’ Jason Terry.
In 2015, Smith is back in the playoffs again- this time as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers- but he’s still throwing bows at Celtics players and he’s still getting suspended for it. Never change, JR!
During the Cavs’ series-clinching win at the TD Garden on Sunday, Mr. Swish took a no-look swing at Boston’s Jae Crowder, smacking him in the face. As a result, the league has announced that he’ll serve a two-game suspension in the second round- which means fellow former-Knick, Iman Shumpert, is likely to get the start.
When Smith returns, we anticipate seeing him in the ‘Gym Red’ Nike LeBron 12 Low, which he has stuck with throughout Cleveland’s brief post-season run thus far.
“This is a situation that I put my teammates in, and it’s a selfish act because I don’t want anything that we do collectively to be taken away by one individual, whether it’s me or anybody else,” said Smith, who has been suspended in the past.
Furthermore, the Cavs will also be without Kevin Love for the entire second round due to a dislocated shoulder which he suffered during a tie-up with Kelly Olynyk. The Celtics forward has been suspended for one game for his actions, which will be served to start the 2015-16 season.”
