Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who became a Tea Party favorite in 2013 when he denounced Obamacare, said he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, reports USA Today. “I’m willing to be part of the equation and, therefore, I’m announcing my candidacy for president of the United States of America,” Carson told WPEC-TV, the CBS affiliate in West Palm Beach, Fla., in an exclusive interview on Sunday. Businesswoman Carly Fiorina also announced her candidacy on Monday. Carson and Fiorina promise to make the Republican field of candidates as diverse as the last election in 2012, when U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Herman Cain, the Black Georgia businessman, ran for office. Read more.


BB King is Receiving Hospice Care

After reports concerning legendary blues singer BB King’s ailing health made headlines, he shared that he is getting hospice care at his home in Las Vegas. The 89-year-old has struggled with type II diabetes for over two decades and has had to recently cancel shows due to hospital visits. “I am in home hospice care at my residence in Las Vegas,” he posted on his website. “Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers.” Last October, King canceled some of his shows due to dehydration and exhaustion. This season, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry left it all on the hardwood, and his efforts to push his team forward didn’t go unnoticed. It is reported that Curry will receive the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award. A source that is accustomed with the media vote believes that he will receive that title.
