Via Globalgrind:

The engineer of the Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia, killing seven and injuring 200, has no recollection of the accident, ABC 7 reports.

Brandon Bostian, 32, has been cooperating with the police and even handed over his phone and a blood sample Wednesday. Bostian, a New York resident, told police he has no medical conditions and wasn’t under the influence of any drugs when the train derailed Tuesday night. After speaking with investigators, he stated that he didn’t remember anything before the crash. What he does remember is looking for his phone to call 911 shortly after the train derailed.

Says ABC 7:

Bostian was “very distraught” to learn of the loss of life in the crash, the attorney said, adding Bostian only remembers driving the train to the crash area generally, then later getting tossed around, coming to, finding his bag and his cell phone, and dialing 911.
