Rihanna‘s video for “B*tch Better Have My Money” has proven to be a bit too much for some folks to handle, and there’s been mass pearl-clutching about it all over the Internet. She has always loved a video that gets people talking though!

With kidnap, nudity, abuse, torture, and implied murder, “BBHMM” was high on the NSFW factor. This isn’t new territory for Rihanna, though, because she’s been cranking out controversial visuals for years. If anything, she’s been ramping up to this for quite some time.

Scroll down for a look back at some of her most controversial videos.

We Found Love

Rihanna got everyone talking after she cast a model that looked suspiciously similar to her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. “We Found Love” caused people to wonder if she was giving everyone an inside look on their relationship as she and the male lead carried on a volatile, controlling, slightly drug-fueled affair. He even carved words into her butt !

Russian Roulette

The song was ominous enough to begin with, but Rihanna just amped it up with the video where she played a deadly game. Not only did she bury the loser in the desert, there were some eerie visuals during her interrogation, too.

Man Down

In “Man Down,” Rihanna brought light to the issue of rape. It was more than a little shocking for viewers, but some people still had a problem with the fact that she shot her rapist in the end.

Pour It Up

Rihanna served up some stripper realness in this visual as she donned a denim thong and twerked on a throne.

RockStar 101

RiRi put this one out while speculation that she’s part of the Illuminati was at an all-time high. She didn’t back down from the controversy–if anything she played it up by wearing horns on her head!
