Janet Jackson first gave us a taste of her collaboration with Missy Elliott during her “Unbreakable” tour stop in Vancouver. Fast forward a few weeks, and here it is. Titled “BURNITUP!,” the Naughty Boy-produced track is the solid dance record you’d expect Janet and Missy would deliver.
“When the DJ play this we’re going to dance like no one’s watching, hey Mr. DJ hit that track and turn it up,” sings Miss Jackson.
In a statement released on Janet’s site, Missy Elliott gushed about working with her longtime friend:
“Working with Janet is unbelievable. Although we are great friends and have been for so long, I am still her biggest fan,” says Missy Elliott. “Sometimes, I still have to pinch myself when I call her and she picks up the phone or texts me because she is still Janet Jackson! The superstar that I would run to the TV to watch her videos and dance moves, so for me I’m honored to be on any Janet record. I’m humbled whenever she asks because she inspires and continues to inspire me, always!”
