ATLANTA, GA – It was the last song in his concert at Atlanta’s Fox Theater, and little did anyone know that it would be the last time that Prince performed “Purple Rain” live.

In footage that US Weekly obtained, Prince gave the song an extra-emotional punch, swaying back and forth as he performed while the audience sang along.

Prior to his final show, the singer had canceled  shows twice in early April because of what his reps said was the flu.  He told his fans at the April 14 concert, “We’re here now.”

After the show, on the way back to Minnesota, Prince’s plane had to make an emergency landing to get him medical help. His rep later released a statement saying that the musician was suffering from flu-like symptoms again and that he had been released from the hospital.
