Beyonce Formation World Tour

Beyoncé might have aired out hubby Jay Z‘s dirty laundry on her highly personal sixth studio album Lemonade, but it’s released ultimately helped his streaming service in a major way.

According to the New York Times, so far there has been 306 million global streams for songs from the album on Tidal, with about 75 percent of those streams (229 million) coming from the United States. Additionally, TIDAL said that “it gained 1.2 million user sign-ups, including free trials, in the first week that Lemonade was available,” and the visual album has been streamed 11 million times. Though Lemonade is now also available for purchase on iTunes, many of the fans who flocked to TIDAL are still rocking with the service with the hopes that it could be a vessel for more exclusive content.

Jay Z bought Tidal last year, and Beyoncé is a partner in the business.
