Yesterday (Monday, July 11) Timothy Theodore Duncan (yep, that’s his government) announced his retirement from the NBA after 19 long, drawn-out seasons, all with the San Antonio Spurs.

It was a tremendous run. In fact, it was legendary. Five NBA Championships, two MVPs and 15 trips to the All Star game – his resume speaks for itself.

And still, nobody cares.

Now hold up a minute, hear me out. Me saying nobody cares isn’t meant to be taken literally. I’ve already commented on his accolades. The man was a beast on paper. One of the best. Can’t take that from him.

But off paper?

Tim Duncan was flat out the most boring Superstar of all time, and I’m not just talking about his flair on the court (which was almost non-existent). Last year Timmy posted a career low 8.6 points per game. In fact Duncan’s scoring dropped each season over the last four years and didn’t average 20 or more since 2006.

But the real reason nobody cares that Timmy D is walking away from?
