A Tupac Pop-Up Restaurant is Coming to Fresno, California-blogged by @djb.jewelz The West Coast is getting a major treat and it's coming really soon. According to #RollingStone, a #TupacShakur inspired pop-up restaurant is coming to #Fresno, California, just in time for the 20th anniversary of his death. Before his death, the late rapper had an interest in opening #Powamekka Cafe. He had sketches for a cookbook and restaurant based on family recipes, as well as contributions from other artists in the industry. Some of his notes also included a sample logo, which incorporates an ankh symbol, and drawings for the bathrooms that were labeled “Divaz” and “Playaz.” To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Tupac’s death, the Powamekka Cafe will open its doors. Sam Hansen, marketing director for the minor league baseball team, Fresno Grizzlies, played a huge part in making Tupac’s plans a reality. The cafe’s menu will feature original sketches from the #EastCoast bred rapper, as well as a menu named after some of his hit songs, such as the "California Love Chicken Sandwich". At the grand opening fans can also expect to see a #Tupac-themed art show where local musicians will perform the rapper’s greatest hits. The Powamekka Cafe opens September 13, at 7 p.m. at Fulton Mall in Fresno.
