Gucci Mane is set to get an early prison release this Wednesday (May 12) after serving nearly six months of a one year sentence for a parole violation.

With his releasing looming, the rapper is making sure his business interests are all in line. The first thing he’s done so far is launch a new record label, 1017 Brick Squad Records, where Gucci will serve as president and CEO as well as it’s marquee artist.

On the heels of the release of his latest official mixtape/street album, The Burrprint 2HD, 1017 Brick Squad Records is prepping new releases from not only Gucci, but also its roster of artists, including Wacka Flocka Flame and Brick Squad (a super group consisting of Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka and OJ Da Juiceman).

Before being incarcerated slowly become one of the hottest artists of 2009, making guest appearances on songs alongside the likes of Mariah Carey, the Black Eyed Peas, Omarion, Usher, and even 50 Cent.

To help ensure that his Gucci’s success continues, he has restructured his team from top to bottom, signing an exclusive management deal with First Avenue Management, Inc., and bringing on board powerhouse agency CAA, which represents other heavyweights like Usher, Justin Bieber and Anthony Hamilton. Rounding out the new cast behind Gucci is business manager David Bolno.

The new business changes comes after leaving longtime management company Mizay Entertainment and booking agency Hitt Afta Hitt Enterprises, after the two companies were sued for booking Gucci performances without disclosing that he was doing to jail. They also allegedly failed to return hundreds and thousands of dollars in advanced payments. Gucci is also no longer affiliated with or an officer of his former record label So Icey Entertainment.

“The rest of 2010 is going to be real major,” said Gucci Mane in a statement. “I’m taking control of all of my business properties and keeping the focus on my career, my music and my artists. All the pieces to the puzzle are finally in place and once I get home it’s Gucci time.”
