This week Epic announced it’s got huge deals sealed with Astro, Marcus Canty and Chris Rene. Astro’s famous loss and his rant after the loss made headlines around the world. The Youtube video went viral, but disappeared shortly after. People who weren’t paying attention to X-Factor couldn’t miss headlines reporting Astro’s antics.

Well, so what. He’s still a rock star. And he’s from Brooklyn. Astro (Brian Bradley) signed with Epic today. His X-Factor run lasted 10 weeks. Mainstream audiences, perhaps, didn’t appreciate Astro’s contribution or skill, but the X-Factor did. Astro was the only contestant to consistently write new material each week – which hadn’t been done before on the show. Astro also took Grammy-nominated Eminem’s “Lose Yourself,” (a track that had previously never been covered) and made it his own. This was his dominant impression on national audiences and judges.

Astro first gained fame at 10, when he burst onto the scene with his original composition, “Stop Looking At My Mom.” It became an instant viral sensation.

Marcus Canty, the P.G. County, Maryland native said he’s feeling blessed and excited to be signed with L.A. Reid. “I am very blessed and grateful to God for the opportunity to become a part of the Epic family,” says Marcus. “I am excited about working with my mentor L.A. Reid, and I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work. This is history in the making, let’s go!”
