Bijou Star, the “Glam Girl”, was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio. As a child, Bijou was nicknamed “Little Oprah.” Spiced with a dose of unashamed honesty, Bijou would query anyone and everyone with her bubbly and engaging personality. Bijou knew she was destined to become a media personality.
Upon entering the prestigious Howard University as a broadcast journalism major, Bijou immersed herself in the numerous media opportunities in the nation’s capitol. From writing for America’s number one college newspaper, Howard University’s “The Hilltop,” and hosting a weekly talk show on WHBC 830 AM, Howard’s student radio station, to interning on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Communications Intern with Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones and producing news programs at WUSA Channel 9 (CBS affiliate) for J.C. Hayward, the nation’s first African American female news anchor, Bijou’s “star” was beginning to rise!
Never in Bijou’s wildest dreams, however, did she imagine that she would be blessed with the opportunity to begin her broadcasting career in not only a top 30 market, but in Cleveland! In May 2007, after graduating from Howard University, Bijou joined the Z107.9 staff as an on-air personality. She is the glamorous host of her brainchild, “HOT FUDGE Sundays,” aired from 10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. on Sunday evenings. Bijou is also the host and producer of the Village TV’s weekly lifestyle and entertainment television show, “Nu City View.” With her unique style and personality Bijou brings a taste of the glamorous life to the mic and a touch of Hollywood drama to Cleveland!
