Miglino arrived at the home of his wife’s parents Wednesday just after 5 p.m. to pick up his three-year-old son per a court-ordered custody schedule, said Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dani Moschella. Expecting Hepner to be combative as she met him in the yard with the child’s pillow and bag, he hit record on his phone before stepping out of the car. The phone instead captured Hepner telling Miglino that his father-in-law wished to speak with him inside. When Miglino declined to enter the house, Moschella said, Hepner pulled a gun from behind her grandson’s pillow and fired three shots at her son-in-law, hitting him twice in the ribcage and shoulder. Wounded, Miglino fell on top of Hepner in the yard, screaming, “I can’t believe you did that! What are you, crazy? I can’t believe you shot me!”

“Get the **** off me!” Hepner screamed, calling her son-in-law at least one choice name before he was transported to Broward General Hospital. Police say he was treated and released. In a classic he-said, she-said, Hepner told investigators that the incident began when Miglino tried to shoot her, but she knocked the gun from his hand and shot him in self-defense. “Detective weren’t able to hear the recording on the phone until Thursday because the phone needed to be charged,” Moschella said. “Once it was charged, and they were able to review it, she was arrested.”

Hepner, who police say had no prior criminal record, was charged with attempted murder in the first degree.

The 48-year-old from Bristol, Illinois, was arrested at 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, for, according to the sheriff’s office report, calling “911 on five occasions to report that his iPhone was not working.”

When police arrived at his residence, he was intoxicated, and was arrested shortly after and charged with obstructing or resisting a peace officer.

If you follow how Apple’s product release cycle for iPhones work you wouldn’t have been surprised to hear about an 4S phone instead of a complete hardware redesign with a 5. With the God CEO himself Steve Jobs stepping down due to his failing health the public, and stock holders, were expecting Cook to unveil the blueprint for Jesus’ return and a miracle cure for Steve Jobs in Apple’s first product announcement under new leadership. It’s been 16 months passed since the last iPhone release so rumors were flying every which way with speculation. Bigger screen! Curbed glass! Inferred keyboard!

None of that happened. What you got was “same design, new insides”. (see phone specs below)

Why try to re-invent the wheel every year? These iPhones and similar types of smartphones are absolute technical marvals in product engineering. Competition is incredibly fierce and phone makers need every advantage. That advantage being leave something off the table so you can play that card later. Why do you think Apple withheld cameras in the first iPad or witheld iPhone 4′s celebrated retina display in the iPad 2? They need something for the next generation to whoo and wow the fan base in the future.

The Apple design team did such a wonderful job in designing the iPhone 4 that they may have painted themselves into a corner. I handily doubt that but it takes years of ingenuity to fit everything that the iPhone does into such a small package and still have it out perform most phones. How do you improve on that? Of course, they will figure it out but why not milk the innovative current design for another year? Just upgrade the current phone to maintain relevancy. And sometimes it takes at least two years to invent a product that’ll tilt the world once again. Apple knows what it is doing. It’s like a sports video game update that comes out every year. It’s pretty much just a reworked version of the previous year. But every two or three years there is a complete overhaul.

The most important reason why iPhone 5 wasn’t announced is because of phone service contracts. The iPhone 4S is for people who aren’t iPhone 4 owners yet. Not for the millions who just upgraded last year. And with Sprint as a new service provider that’s alot more people. It costs phone companies such as AT&T, Verizon and now Sprint upwards of $600 per iPhone to stock the much in-demand device but the public gets the lowest end model for $199 with a two-year service plan. Nobody is going to buy a phone for $600 so the phone company subsidizes the iPhone at a deep discount and locks customers in with a two year contract and data plan to get their investment back. The phone company gets new customers, the public gets an iphone, and Apple gets money (does Get Money dance). That’s the game. The millions who bought the iPhone 4 are still locked in their contract so Apple releases a completely new iPhone every two years.

With 16 months already passed and with reports of curbed glass in production and the iPhone 5 cases already popping up I wouldn’t be surprised to hear an iPhone 5 within 8 months (that’ll make 24 months). It will be coming. A co-worker of mine who knows all things Apple in our office theorized that Cupertino may wait until at least January for the product announcement to tie in the iPod’s tenth anniversary. Next year is when Apple will change the game. SOURCE

Computer firm Apple has approved an iPhone and iPad application which claims to ‘cure’ gay people.

The app, called Exodus International, is targeted at ‘homosexual strugglers’ and teaches them that gay people have a choice about their sexuality.

Its Christian makers claim the app gives them a chance of ‘freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus’.

The free program, which is available in Britain, was given four out of five stars by Apple, which means it is deemed to have ‘no objectionable content’.

But the computing giant is now under pressure after gay rights campaigners started a petition to have it withdrawn.

U.S. pressure group Change.org said that Exodus’ claims are ‘hateful and bigoted’ and send out an appalling message.

Apple doesn’t allow racist or anti-Semitic apps in its app store, yet it gives the green light to an app targeting vulnerable LGBT youth with the message that their sexual orientation is a “sin that will make your heart sick” and a “counterfeit”,’ Change.org writes on the petition, which has got 35,000 signatures.

‘This is a double standard that has the potential for devastating consequences. Apple needs to be told, loud and clear, that this is unacceptable.’ On Apple’s iTunes store customers were similarly appalled.

Keith Hopster wrote: ‘As a straight man i find this app offensive and totally inappropriate, we have young gay people around the world killing themselves as a direct result of religious beliefs and Apple allows this.

Exodus, which claims to be the world’s largest ministry for individuals and families ‘impacted by homosexuality’, has defended the app.

The organisation claims it is a useful resource for men, women, parents, students, and ministry leaders and should be allowed to remain on iTunes.

Its leaders have also said they are ‘committed to encouraging, educating and equipping the Body of Christ to address the issue of homosexuality with grace and truth’.

Apple donated $100,000 to defeat California’s Proposition 8, the state’s ban on marriage equality, so we’re not sure who dropped the ball on this one. Our bets are on Steve Jobs pulling the plug on Exodus before the end of the week.

A California start-up is launching a new iPhone application called TigerText that allows people to erase text messages after they have been sent out!!

When one receives the text, they are prompted to download the TigerText application for free in order to read the message, which apparently isn’t sent to the recipient’s iPhone, but hosted on the company’s servers and can be erased whenever the sender wishes.

Sent messages can be deleted on command, or set to automatically vanish after a specific period OR immediately after reading. They also cannot be saved, copied, or forwarded.

Jeffrey Evans, Founder of X Sigma Parters, the company behind TigerText, says:

“Tigers are notoriously difficult animals to track. TigerTexts are difficult to track as well. Ninety-nine percent of what people want to keep private has nothing to do with cheating on a spouse or doing anything illegal. How many times have you sent someone a text message and told them after they read it to delete it? Text messages are conversations with another person; the problem is they live forever. I thought it would be great if messages would self-destruct in 60 seconds…When the message is gone from us, it’s gone.”

In a Hilarious case of irony, the application was apparently named before all of Tiger’s nasty little texts were leaked to the press.

Evans says:

“I understand part of the reason people want to talk about it today is because of the name but this is not about people trying to cheat. If you send a private text message it should stay private.”

iPhone apps are used for news, weather, music, shopping and now having a baby.

30-year-old Lena Bryce suffered from infertility for several years. Bryce, who desperately wanted a child, told The Sun, “It began to weigh heavily on us. We were considering IVF and adoption when [my husband] Dudley gave me the iPhone for my 30th. I typed in ‘get pregnant’ and downloaded five apps.”

Bryce chose the The Free Menstrual Calendar which highlighted in bright pink her most fertile day. She got pregnant two months after downloading the app.

Houston rap legend and former Geto Boys member Willie D. appeared in a Houston court today (December 18), where he formally pleaded guilty to wire fraud related to a fake company, Texas One Wireless.

Willie D., born William Dennis pleaded guilty to the charge, which stemmed from an international scam the rapper was running on customers who were attempting to buy iPhones and other electronics on eBay.

The rapper scammed over 29 people out of $132,000. The victims ordered the phones in bulk, made payments and then received phony tracking numbers.
