Romeo joins the cast that features Eugene Levy, Denise Richards, and Tyler Perry. Shooting starts next week in Atlanta.

WTF!: Jamie Foxx & Tyler Perry Sued By Prisoner Over Movie Idea! (VIDEO)

Jamie Foxx and Tyler Perry are being sued for $1 million each by a prisoner — who claims the duo jacked his idea for a groan-worthy new comedy … starring Foxx, Perry, and Martin Lawrence … all dressed as women.

In case you haven’t heard … the project is called “Skank Robbers” — a wacky action comedy about two lady bank robbers … with Lawrence’s Sheneneh character from “Martin,” Foxx’s Wanda from “In Living Color,” and according to reports … Tyler Perry‘s Madea … from every bad movie you’ve seen. The project is reportedly in development.

Enter Shamont Lyle Sapp — who, coincidentally, says he’s serving time in Oklahoma for 10 bank robberies — he’s filed a lawsuit, claiming he gave Foxx and Perry the idea for the project … and they cut him out of the action.

The rumors are swirling Tyler Perry is ready to jump the broom but some say he’s doing it for the wrong reason! He just wrapped up his latest film, starring R&B singer Brandy and Kim Kardashian titled The Marriage Counselor but, sources say the award winning director/actor may be engaged sooner rather than later! According to reports late Wednesday, Perry is already shopping for rings!

Peeps close to Perry and his model girlfriend Gelila Bekela say “she told friends in New York on Monday that she and Tyler are talking about getting married. According to one of Gelila’s pals, the couple have already looked at rings, and are scouting locations for the nuptials.”

Peeps close to his camp say he’s hoping getting married will help squash those GAY rumors! They say he’s looking to repair his image with Black folks.

Apparently he believes that recent criticism among Black actors and writers, is impacting the ticket sales on his latest moves. And that, at least part of the criticism levied against him, is rooted in homophobia.

While it may be far fetched, at this point, to assume what has been said is true, Tyler Perry was spotted with Bekele at a charity event earlier this week.

In other Perry news, the first trailer for his next film, Good Deeds, has been released. The movie stars Gabrielle Union, Perry, Thandie Newton, Brian White, Eddie Cibrian, Phylicia Rashad and more.

A successful, wealthy businessman, Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) has always done what’s expected of him, whether it’s assuming the helm of his father’s company, tolerating his brother’s misbehavior at the office or planning to marry his beautiful but restless fiancee, Natalie. But Wesley is jolted out of his predictable routine when he meets Lindsey, a down-on-her-luck single mother who works on the cleaning crew in his office building. When he offers to help her get back on her feet, the chance encounter with someone so far outside his usual circle ignites something in Wesley. This one good deed may finally spark his courage to exchange the life that’s expected of him for the life he’s always really wanted.

Good Deeds comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Tyler Perry, Thandie Newton. The film is directed by Tyler Perry.

Tyler Perry stars as well-to-do Ivy Leaguer Wesley Deeds, who is not heading to Washington but instead for a midlife-jarring reckoning with his first world problems. Deeds, you see, doesn’t appreciate the cozy life he’s sleepwalking through until the plucky young office cleaning lady/single mother (Thandie Newton) crashes into his life, all but begging to be judged. Well, does richie rich Tyler Perry know the price of a gallon of milk? (Seriously, does the real bazillionaire Tyler Perry know the price of a gallon of milk?) I think not. Faced. Life lessons are about to be learned, and how.

You can’t quite tell from the trailer, but Good Deeds (get it, it’s a clever play on words!) is described as a romantic comedy and not a hard-hitting class drama, which means, unfortunately, Perry’s Deeds will probably fall for the poor-but-beautiful Newton at some point or another. Classic manic pixie cleaning lady storyline.

Uh oh! Tyler Perry is widely viewed as the most powerful and highest paid black man in Hollywood, but few have explored exactly how he achieved his rapid rise and blockbuster success.

Now, a man from Perry’s past has stepped forward claiming that the writer-director-producer didn’t achieve his status alone. And that he didn’t do it honestly.

In his new memoir, Never Would Have Made It: The Rise of Tyler Perry, the Most Powerful Entertainer in Black America (And What It Really Took to Get Him There), Melvin Childs, a self-described former

Childs, seen below, also makes the shocking charge that Perry used “risky deals with drug dealers, couriers carrying large bags of cash across the country; backstabbing and double-dealing with corrupt promoters,” plus other illicit means to fund his early work according to the book’s press release.

Childs, who says he has an eye for writing talent, alleges that he helped discover a then unknown Perry. Childs invested in Perry by putting up the money for his production of I Know I’ve Been Changed at Atlanta’s House of Blues, a turning point in the star’s career.

Those sold out shows led to Perry’s first successful national tour, which were allegedly also made possible through Childs’ money and connections. Childs says he supported the then-struggling star by providing for Perry’s basic living expenses at that time.

Childs says he’s doing well right now, but he acknowledges he holds resentment towards Perry. He had this to say on his website…

“Was I just a promoter when you came to me for a loan because you didn’t have the money to pay your cast? Was I just a promoter when you called me to borrow money to buy food or when I personally paid for the hotel you were living in while you were supposedly homeless? Maybe I was and if that’s the case, then so be it. But guess what? Regardless of what he wants to call me, I was there. And because I was there, I also have a story to tell.”

When Tyler Perry came on the scene, it was as if he had a first class express flight to the top. Yes he’s shared his story about his rise to fame, but no one ever really challenged it.

Now a man claiming to be a part of the director’s past is coming forward with allegations that might just blow your mind.

Tyler Perry who was also a victim of chid molestation has penned an emotional open letter to an 11-year old boy affected by the Penn State/Sandusky molestation scandal.

I don’t know your name, but I know your face. I don’t know your journey, but I know where you are. I am your brother!

I must tell you, what you have done is so courageous. The strength that it must have taken for your 11-year-old voice to speak out about such a horrible act is something that I didn’t have the strength or courage to do at that age.

I was a very poor young black boy in New Orleans, just a face without a name, swimming in a sea of poverty trying to survive. Forget about living, I was just trying to exist. I was enduring a lot of the same things that you’ve come forward and said happened to you, and it was awful. I felt so powerless. I knew what was happening to me, but unlike you, I couldn’t speak about it because no one saw me. I was invisible and my voice was inaudible.

So to think that you, when you were only 11 years old, spoke up—you are my hero! I’m so proud of you. You have nothing to be ashamed of. I want you to know you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s not your fault. Please know that you were chosen by a monster. You didn’t choose him. You didn’t ask for it and, most of all, you didn’t deserve it. What a huge lesson that was for me to learn. Your 11-year-old self was no match for wicked, evil tactics of this kind. You were hunted like prey. A pedophile looks for the young boys he thinks he can manipulate. The ones who have daddy or mommy issues, the ones who are broken, and the ones who are in need. But this wasn’t you.

Do you know that at the young age of 11 you had more courage than all the adults who let you down? All of the ones who didn’t go to the proper authorities, all of the ones who were worried about their careers, reputations, or livelihoods. All of the ones who didn’t want to get involved. Or even the ones who tried to convince your mother not to fight. You are stronger than them all! I wonder what they would have done if it were their own child.

I had a few of those adults in my life, too. They knew and did nothing. One of them even said to me that it was my fault, because I allowed myself to spend time with the molesters. And yes, this was someone who was in power and could have called the police, but instead this person allowed this criminal to go on molesting other young boys for many years. When I did tell a family member, I wasn’t believed. I suffered in silence. But not you, my young strong hero, you have done what many of us wish we could have done. You used your voice!

You know, now that you’re older you need to be aware that the aftermath of abuse may affect you for a very long time. But that’s OK; just know that the strength it took for you to talk about it then will help you get through it now. I often tell myself that if I made it through that experience as a child, then surely as a man I should be able to get past it. It still may take you a while, but that’s OK too. I have known people who have gone through the same things that we have, but unfortunately they were never able to admit it, and it destroyed them. They never went for help, and they let the abuse defeat them. Some of them went to prison for crimes, some are addicted to drugs, and some have even committed suicide. I know that none of these things will happen to you. You are too strong for that!

No matter what happens next, just know that the hardest part is over. I wish the coward and very sick individual who hurt you would have the courage to admit his wrong and not put you through a trial. But he will most likely profess his innocence until the bitter end. And probably, all the while, yelling at the top of his lungs about all he has done to help troubled young boys.

You may have to go through with that trial, and you may feel all alone when you’re on that witness stand, but just know that there are millions of young boys and grown men who are standing with you—including me. If every man who has ever been molested would speak up, you would see that we’re all around you. You may not know all of our faces and names, but my prayer is that you feel our strength holding you up. You will get through this; you’ve already endured the worst part at age 11. Now fight on, my young friend, fight on! We are all with you.

Actor/Director/Producer Tyler Perry Has Six Films and a TV Network Scheduled for 2012!

In less than a decade, Tyler Perry has gone from one-man show to profit machine, and the entertainment mogul is going all out for 2012. In addition to the four films Perry he has scheduled for release next year (Good Deeds, I, Alex Cross, a new Madea film and The Marriage Counselor), he also claims he’s written two new scripts during his downtime.

“It was like a vacation, actually,” Perry tells Variety of his time on the set of I, Alex Cross, which he starred in but didn’t direct. “I had so much downtime on set that I ended up writing two movies.”

Lastly, Perry reiterated his plans to launch his own TV network, to be called Tyler TV. “I’m moving very carefully towards a network … I’m doing that deliberately because I want to make sure it’s the right fit. There are millions of people who have supported me over the years who are longing for it,” he told Variety.

That’s four films set for release, another two in the works, and a 24/7 television network on the way. Not to mention, Perry’s TBS series House of Payne just entered its seventh season.

Uh oh! Filmmaker Tyler Perry is taking heat after posting a letter on his website defending Kim Kardashian! We toldja Kim is co-starring in his new movie “The Marriage Counselor.”

Fans blasted Perry for keeping Kim on the film after her short lived 72 day marriage to NFL baller Kris Humphries. Some fans are even planning to BOYCOTT the movie.

But while Kim is catching all types of criticism, she’s found a shoulder to lean on with her boss, Perry. He sent out a personal message late Wednesday night responding to the folks who plan to boycott.

I think many of you know that this is a very difficult time of year for me, so what I try to do is make sure that I’m working during this time. All I wanted to do was shoot a great film and try to keep my mind off the holiday grief that I have been experiencing for the past two years. I could not have imagined I’d be getting all these emails about Kim Kardashian. I HAVE SEEN THEM!! YOU HAVE BEEN HEARD!! …LOL. Now, may I say something? Can a brother get a word in?….LOL. Y’all gave me a new movie title, Tyler Perry’s “Diary of a Mad Black Woman Cause You Hired Kim Kardashian, Don’t Make Me Take Off My Earrings and Boycott Yo A**.”…LOL. Some of my ladies are upset. Ok, all jokes aside, can I have my say? Will you at least here me out?

I was in a Mexican restaurant and the cutest little old woman stopped me and said, “I want to talk to you about KAR-DAT- CHA-NEM.” I said, “Ma’am?” She said, “What is wrong with you putting her in the lead role of your movie?” By the time I explained to her that she was not in the lead role and why I thought she should be in “The Marriage Counselor”, she said, “Oh, I see your point and I can’t wait to see the movie.” So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to share with you what I said to her then maybe you’ll see why I wanted her in the film.

This movie is about a young lady named Judith (Jurnee Smolett), who grew up in the countryside of Virginia in a trailer park. She was raised in the church by her mother Sarah (Ella Joyce). Judith married her childhood sweetheart Brice (Lance Gross) and had the perfect life until she graduated college and went to work in the big city. After college, all she wanted to do was be a marriage counselor, but the only job she could find was working for a matchmaker named Janice (Vanessa Williams). Janice has several employees that work for her, including a woman named Ava (Kim Kardashian). Ava is constantly trying to influence Judith on everything from her shoes to her hair. Judith meets a man at work named Harley (Robbie Jones). Harley challenges everything in her life from her marriage to her husband to her faith. Meanwhile, Brice (Lance Gross), Judith’s husband works at a pharmacy owned by Mrs. Waco (Renee Taylor). Brice has just hired a coworker named Melinda (Brandy), who has some major demons that she is running from. In the end, the choices that both of these young women have made come crashing down on them and their lives will never be the same. I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to ruin it for you.

Tyler Perry Defends Kim K! ‘She is a Role Model!’

Tyler sent out this personal message late Wednesday night to respond to the folks who are boycotting him and starting & signing petitions against Kim K.’s appearance in The Marriage Counselor. Petitions have circulated this week with thousands of signatures asking E! to remove the Kardashian family. And similar petitions were created concerning her appearance in Tyler’s upcoming movie.

Folks have also started a grassroots boycott of Tyler if he continues on with her in the movie. Even respected actresses like Holly Robinson Peete have chimed in that “blacktresses” are upset about Tyler’s main role casting decision, regardless of the transparent decision to do so for publicity and money making purposes.

Kim’s co-star Vanessa Williams also came to her defense Wednesday as they exchanged tweets:

@KimKardashian ..met her..worked with her..Always be willing to have an open ear & heart. Never judge,people!

So Tyler has now answered the critics and attempted to clear up what’s really up with Kim’s role, which he says is not a lead one. Essentially she’s playing herself–a chick who likes to play stylist to her friends. He also asks his fans the question of why it’s so wrong to cast her when the film is about forgiveness and recognizing mistakes. And he pushes that Kim is a great role model for our youth. *eyebrows raised* Here’s his letter in full:

After I finished writing this movie, I sat back and re-read it. Half way through my read, the gravity of what I had written hit me. I knew that this message was not only for my age group, but for all audiences, especially the youth. ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH!! YOUNG FOLKS NEED TO SEE THIS!!! And not just the young people that follow me, but the young people that are following other young people, as well. I wanted a younger cast, that’s why I put Jurnee in the lead and invited Lance Gross, Robbie Jones and Brandy. About two months ago, long before I even heard about Kim’s marriage or divorce, I was trying to finish up the casting. I said to one of my producers, “who else is out there that young people are looking up to?” One of my producers showed me pictures that his daughter had taken of several hundred kids lined up around the corner to get into a Kardashian store. They wanted to meet Kim. I thought, what better person! She literally has millions of young people following her. I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film. To have the young people that look up to her, see her in a film that is about, what happens in life when you make the wrong choices. Whether you’re aware of it or not, to be honest with you I wasn’t, millions of young people adore her and are following her every move. If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here. I hope you understand. I really do!

MediaTakeOut.com just learned that security on the set of Tyler Perry’s new film “The Marriage Counselor” is EXTRA HEAVY. That’s because we’ve EXCLUSIVELY learned that producers have received what are being called “CREDIBLE THREATS” towards Kim Kardashian’s life and safety. One threat in particular, a KIDNAPPING THREAT, is being taken particularly seriously. According to an insider, Kim will be flanked AT ALL TIMES by ARMED bodyguards. Added security is also expected to be provided to her mother Kris, who is on set also. It’s not exactly clear WHO made the threat, or what was said. But EVERYONE on the set is on edge with all the added security around!!!
