Welcome to the latest series to hit Zhiphopcleveland.com titled “Behind The Scenes” where you will get to take a more in depth look into the lives of your favorite artists. I will personally travel to events in Cleveland or surrounding cities to experience the live performances, talk with the artist and report back to YOU with my findings. During this series, you will get a better feel on who the artist is and what their live performance is like so that next time they come to town, maybe you can attend. Also, I may be able to introduce you to an artist you may have never heard of.
This is the first of many within the “Behind The Scenes” series. From now on, I will make a post giving you a heads up on who my next interview will be. This gives you the opportunity to leave as many comments as you would like, telling me what questions you would like me to ask the artist!
Here’s the kicker: I will choose 1-2 questions from the post and use them in my interview and shout out YOUR name! Exciting right? Don’t forget to be on the look out for that “Behind The Scenes” logo.
On to the first step into this series. Can you guess who the artist was?
Drum Roll please….
Yes…it is Yelawolf!!!
As you may or may not know, Yelawolf is currently on tour. He made a stop to Cleveland and visited us at Peabody’s. I had to make my way out there for what I knew was going to be a groundbreaking show. I have been hooked on his music for about a year now. I genuinely enjoy his character and after the interview I enjoyed him as a person also.
Yelawolf’s live performance is exactly what you would think it would be: Raw and Uncut. He is exactly who he is in his music. Throughout his performance, he took his shirt off, got articles of clothing thrown at him, asked an audience member for a cigarette and smoked it, etc etc. He is truly entertaining. I would definitely make it a point to see him if he makes his way to your city.
During my interview with Yelawolf he discusses what we can expect from “Radioactive” which is being released November 21st, his experiences on tour with Wiz Khalifa and what artists he is listening to right now. He also comments on collaborations with Justin Bieber, Lil B and V-Nasty (or lack thereof) and more!
