Reports of Denver Broncos Kenny McKinley in what authorities are calling an apparent suicide have surfaced. McKinley was found dead Monday afternoon in his apartment in Centennial, Colo., at 3:35 p.m. local time.
Detectives believe the 23-year-old died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Local authorities were contacted by a female friend. Police are not saying if a suicide note was left. And it is unclear everything that has been goign on in McKinley’s life.
Team owner Pat Bowlen had this to say:
“Everyone with the Broncos is shocked and saddened by the loss of Kenny McKinley. He was part of the Broncos’ family and will be greatly missed by our organization. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Kenny’s family and friends.”
