NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA – October 7, 2010 (WPVI) — A teen is dead after police used a Taser on him in Northeast Philadelphia.
Police were responding to a call at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday for reports of a person with a weapon on the 6900 block of Souder Street. While police were trying to apprehend the 18-year-old male, officers say he lunged at them. That’s when police used a Taser on the teen. He was transported to Nazareth Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:10 p.m.
It is not clear if a weapon was recovered at the scene.
