The former Atlanta Falcons quarterback who lost his job when he was convicted of running a dog fighting ring, did everything right last night. The MVP candidate led the Eagles to a convincing 59-28 win over the Washington Football Team. He finished the night with 333 passing yards that resulted in 4 touchdowns, and he rushed for 88 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Any other quarterback would have been celebrated on all the network morning shows today. But Vick’s riveting performance on the field was buried under the news of Prince Williams’ engagement to his girlfriend of 8 years, Kate Middleton in London. Many blacks who thought racism would vanish completely in America after they helped elect Barack Obama to the presidency, expressed dismay on social networks facebook and Twitter this morning. Outraged nationally syndicated Morning show host Rickey Smiley, who can be heard locally on z107.9, lashed out at CNN’s Tony Harris, calling him a “house nigga” and a “sell out” for “doggin’” Vick on the network today.
