(blackmediaSCOOP) Two New York City men have been arrested in the shooting death of popular B.E.T DJ Megatron.

Cops say 21-year-old William Williams and 20-year-old Richard Cromwell were arrested Wednesday on charges of murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. It wasn’t clear whether they had lawyers.

The two men reportedly walked up to DJ Megatron and one of the men fired a single shot which killed him. They took some cash from his lifeless body and a watch from his wrist. The damn watch was a gift from his daughter that meant a lot to the DJ but was worth about $15 dollars we’re told. The alleged murderers threw it away once they found out it was worthless. Sources say the arrests came after a tipster called police.

The 32-year-old disc jockey, whose real name is Corey McGriff worked on BET’s “106 & Park”. He was shot once in the chest while walking to a store near his home on New York’s Staten Island last month.

DJ Megatron, began making a name for himself at the hip-hop radio station Hot 97 in New York. He then moved to BET where he became a regular. He also took New York’s club scene by storm, performing on a regular basis.

DJ Megatron is survived by his three children.
