Regardless of what Beyonce says, girls don’t run the world in Kanye’s official video for his clip, “Monster.” When  a rough draft of the video from My Dark Twisted Fantasy was leaked, women’s groups and some rap fans protested that the images of dead women were a misogynist‘s wet dream.  Now the official version comes with the disclaimer:

“The following content is no way to be interpreted as misogynistic or negative towards any groups of people. It is an art piece and it shall be taken as such.”

With all due respect Mr. West, the thing about “art” is that you can’t control how people “take it.” True artists understand the risk when they create and accept the consequences.  Tyler The Creator doesn’t have disclaimers for his crazy videos.  He doesn’t care and I’d respect it more if you were honest and just said you didn’t care what we thought either. Because clearly you don’t.

That said, I’d love to hear what the people have to say about it. Art or not?
