The National Labor Relations Board has ordered a Buffalo nonprofit to reinstate 5 workers who were fired for doing just that. They get back pay for being axed. There is one catch though, if you do want to whine about work online, try to do so with fellow employees. That makes the speech protected under the NLRB Act, which gives employees the right to talk to each other about working conditions.

It’s the first time the NLRB has asserted that an employee can dis a boss or entire company on a social networking site like Facebook, contending it’s a protected activity and that any employer who retaliates against a worker is breaking the law.
