A 9th person, a 7-year-old boy, died Sunday from the tragic house fire in Charleston, W.Va., that killed 2 adults and 6 other children. Bryan Timothy Camp was taken off life support Sunday morning.
26 year old Alisha Carter-Camp (seen above), took the weekend off from her job as a desk clerk at the Holiday Inn Express in West Virginia to celebrate her birthday.
Saturday, a fire broke out in the two-story wood frame house she shared with her sister, Latasha Jones-Isabell, 24, and 7 children. The fire killed Carter-Camp, her boyfriend (above) and 7 kids all under 8. Firefighters say the family died in their sleep and “looked like they were frozen in time.”
The only person to escape the burning building in Charleston, West Virginia was Latasha Isabell, who ran to a neighbor’s home to call for help. The home had just one fire alarm and was overdue for an official inspection. An inspection was scheduled for last month, but was cancelled after officials called the house and found that only children were at home.
