Since being announced as the new “American Idol” judges, rumors have swirled Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were having problems getting along. We can classify those rumors ans the cold hard truth. A video of Nicki Minaj cussing Mariah Carey out has found its way online.
Young Money‘s diva brought Tuesday’s Charlotte, North Carolina “Idol” auditions to a screeching halt when she went off on Mariah Carey for Carey’s perceived rude behavior. In the clip, you can hear Minaj barking, “I’m not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.” Allegedly, before the video was shot, Minaj told Carey that she would knock her out. Mariah isn’t one to back down from a challenge. So she can be heard talking back to Minaj while Keith Urban and Randy Jackson try to diffuse the situation.

Apparently, the argument started over a difference of opinion Minaj and Carey had about a contestant’s performance. When producers realized the situation was only going to escalate if the ladies stayed in the room together, the rest of the auditions were canceled for the day. The executives over at Fox and “American Idol” are said to be extremely pissed at the two women for their actions. Producers aren’t sure the women will be able to finish the audition period, let alone stay on the show together for more than one season.
Although both women are responsible for their own actions, I blame this debacle on the producers of the show. Both Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are used to calling the shots. You can’t put two women who are used to running their ships together and tell them to co-exist. That’s like having a man move his mother into the house he just bought with his new wife. Eventually, sparks are going to fly between the women. It just so happened that sparks flew between Minaj and Carey within the first five seconds of taping.
