Chris Webber knows where the money is at.

The former NBA star made more than $180 million in salary alone during his long 15-year career in the league. It could have been longer if it wasn’t for a bum knee.

But that’s alright. He was very successful, made a lot of money, and now four years after retiring, is investing that hunk of dough into movies.

Chris has partnered with award-winning producer Peter Gilbert to establish a new film production company, Webber Productions.

According to IndieWire.com, the new film factory will create flicks focusing on the complex intersection of sports, culture and society.

“I am happy to start a company with a man like Peter Gilbert, who has proven to be one of the best in documentary film work,” Chris says. “I look forward to learning from him and telling great stories around my passions, my community and my world with him.”

The two met on the set of “Hoop Dreams,” where Peter was producer and director of photography.

Currently the partners’ team has begun working on a few projects, including a Chris Webber documentary.
