From NEWS 92 FM – More than 60 people are reported dead and hundreds injured after an explosion at a burning fertilizer plant north of Waco tonight. A major portion of the town of West was reportedly leveled by the blast.

The explosion happened just before 8 p.m. tonight. Several buildings are reportedly destroyed and a nearby nursing home was damaged. A number of people are also reportedly trapped in the nursing home and a neighboring apartment building.

The entire city has been evacuated as a precaution as a second tank remains intact at the burning plant.

The cause of the explosion is unknown, officials told CNN Wednesday night.
