It been nearly eight years since we’ve heard new music from Will Smith, but the rapper-turned-actor recently revealed that he may be hitting the studio with one of hip-hop’s top-selling artist.

During an interview with HipHollywood.com, the 44-year-old star said Kanye West has been urging his to return to his musical roots.

“I’ve been messing around with Kanye,” he said during a press tour for his upcoming film, After Earth. “We went in the studio a couple times, so I might get the bug. I’m not going to do it unless I’m truly inspired, but Ye’s been pushing me a little bit.”

The news comes as a shock to Big Willie fans, who have been patiently waiting for new material since his 2005 studio album Lost and Found.

This week, Big Willie hit the “Late Show” stage with one of his biggest hits, “Summertime.” And if you ask us, he’s still got it!
