Dwight Howard has informed (former team) Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, & the Atlanta Hawks that he would not be joining them. Who does that leave? Dwight has chose the Houston Rockets to team up with James Harden. Without a sign-and-trade with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwight would sign a four year $88 million deal or an extra year with trade.

In reality, Dwight Howard made the smartest decision of stepping into a lineup that gives him the quickest path to championship aspirations. Dwight Howard loses an extra $30 million choosing to not resign with the Lakers but with no state income tax, child support payments and local endorsements to go along with national endorsements, Dwight stands to gain more money in Houston. The pressure of being the next great center of the Los Angeles Lakers is no more but that doesn’t stop the pressure of winning a championship.

Howard will be teamed side by side with Rockets guard, James Harden to become the dynamic duo to bring a title back to Houston. Howard will also have an advantage of working out with Rockets former center, Hakeem Olajuwon on becoming a better offensive player to raise his legacy as one of the best players to play the game by the end of his career.

Hey Lakers fans, at least Dwight didn’t go on national television to announce he’s taking his talents to Houston.
