Flights to Newark, New York and other East Coast cities were canceled at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and at the Akron-Canton Airport.
In fact, a spokeswoman at Hopkins told NewsChannel5 that up to 50 percent of its flights Friday morning were canceled.
About 1,000 flights were cancelled in advance of today because of the winter weather.
