Rihanna avoids filming with Tyler Perry
Rihanna is considering her next film role, but it’s unlikely that she’ll be starring in a Tyler Perry production. RadarOnline.com reports that the “Diamonds” singer has made a solemn vow never to appear in a Tyler Perry production due to some advice given to her by the late Whitney Houston.
“Whitney put her off Tyler by warning her bluntly that ‘Tyler’s films are for fading Black stars, not rising ones,’” a source close to Rihanna told Radar Online. “Rihanna so respected Whitney because, in addition to being one of the biggest pop stars ever, she starred in hit movies such as The Bodyguard.”
The other factor for her to consider is whether Tyler’s even making the right kind of movies for her. Supposedly, RiRi’s looking for something a little more daring than his usual material. According to the insider, “She’s ruling out doing a Tyler Perry-style romantic comedy because she thinks she works better in action roles, playing the tough girl.”
