Beyoncé cries on stage
It’s a wrap for the Mrs. Carter Show! Beyonce lost her composure as her worldwide tour came to a close in Lisbon, Portugal on Thursday night. Months of touring and promoting her album brought the diva to tears as she bid a fond farewell to her fans.
“If y’all didn’t know, tonight makes 132 shows. Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show,” Beyonce told the crowd before acknowledging her band mates and crew. “We started a year ago. I wanna say this has been such a journey. In the past year, we’ve been through so much together, the Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows.”
That’s when things took a turn for the emotional as Beyonce explained what else had occurred in her life over the course of the tour. “When I first started the tour, my baby was not even walking. I just want you to know that I am so lucky,” Bey said as she broke down in tears. “I’m giving y’all the ugly cry.”
However, she made sure to express her deep appreciation and gratitude to her fans for all they have done for her before launching into the last song of the night, “XO,” stating, “Thank you for allowing me to have a career, and when I fall, you lift me up. And when I’m hungry, you feed me. And I just want to give you my light.”
