Kenya Moore may have an alternative to returning to “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” whose producers have reportedly required all cast members to tape with one another for season 7.
The former Miss USA was spotted hanging out with Cynthia Bailey and Marlo Hampton recently and she tweeted that a spinoff series starring her, NeNe Leakes’ former friends and hairstylist Miss Lawrence might not be a bad idea.
“What are the chances of this? Cynthiabailey10 @iheartmarlo #nyc #random #anewspinoff,” wrote Kenya.
Though there have been no reports about specific cast members not wanting to tape with others, NeNe has previously stated that she’s through communicating with all three women.
Some would argue that Kenya, who was attacked by co-star Porsha Williams during the season 6 reunion, has reason to be reluctant to work with the “Flatline” singer again; however, it’s unclear whether that’s the reason she’s contemplating spin-off concepts.
While some series allow their co-stars to tape separately and avoid those with whom they have conflict, Bravo execs—likely hoping for the most bang for their bucks—want all the ladies to interact, according to reports.
Talk-show host Wendy Williams said the move would also humble the co-stars whose egos may be getting out of hand.
“They’re getting a little too big for their britches,” Wendy said. “Producers are reportedly sick and tired of their diva behavior where they don’t want to perform a scene with this one and they don’t want to perform a scene with that one.”
Wendy pointed out that it’s the tense, strained and damaged relationships that some viewers want to see.
“NeNe, I’m sure, doesn’t want to do scenes with Cynthia, but remember, NeNe and Cynthia were very, very close at one point. The Bravo people have checked and this is the only million-dollar paycheck that she’s making at this point. It’s not like she can exactly make these demands,” said Wendy who also wants to see Porsha and Kenya together on screen.
“That’s part of the juice. Isn’t it?” she said. “If they’re going to be on TV, then they have to give the people what they watch for which is conflict and ridiculousness.”
