According to the neighbor, Phillip Lao, the two men haven’t seen eye to eye on Kneier’s policy moves, leading to running disagreements. Lao earlier suggested Kneier should “resign in shame” over the incident and said he’d file harassment charges against Kneier and San Marino. During a City Hall meeting last week, others agreed that Kneier should resign from his post, which, KTLA notes, is mostly ceremonial.
“What in the world were you thinking?”
asked one. Vice mayor Eugene Sun will take over as temporary mayor, and Kneier will continue as a city councilman.
