CLEVELAND – The suspect in a Warrensville Heights barbershop shooting that killed three people is now in custody.

Douglas ‘Duke’ Shine, 20, is the man police named as a suspect in the triple homicide at Chalk Linez barbershop on Harvard Road February 5.

Walter Lee Barfield, 23, of Cleveland, Brandon White, 31, of Warrensville Heights and William Gonzalez, 32, of Garfield Heights died in the shooting.

Gonzalez was the owner of the barbershop.

A warrant was issued for Shine’s arrest on February 11.

During a press conference held Friday at 3 p.m., Warrensville Heights Mayor Brad Sellers said the city is proud to announce the capture of Shine.

Police Chief Wesley Haynes said during the conference Shine was apprehended at about 2:30 a.m. in the area of East 71st Street and Harvard Avenue. Through numerous tips that came in through the hotline, police learned Shine had entered a specific residence, located at 7114 Clement Avenue in Cleveland.
