“ISIS hate knows no boundaries and they’re now targeting Nike. The radical Islamic State group has put a ban on all Nike products, including clothing and sneakers, because the pronunciation of ‘Nike’ is similar to Arabic words with sexual undertones (‘whore’, ‘flirt’, ‘kiss me’ and ‘cupid’) and are deemed sinful under Shariah law.
ISIS has warned that anyone living within it’s limits caught wearing Nike gear will be punished by paying a fine, whipping, or imprisonment.

The Islamic State group, also known as ISIS or ISIL, distributed pamphlets titled “Beware guys, from serious foreign words,” showing images of Nike clothing along with English words and phrases such as “flirt,” “cupid,” “whore” and “kiss me” with their meanings in Arabic. However, ISIS fighters have been previously seen wearing Nike sneakers and other Western brands. Nike is a popular American sportswear company, but it’s named after the winged goddess of victory in ancient Greek mythology.
This isn’t the first time that ISIS has tried to put a ban on specific clothing- they previously forbid men from wearing skinny jeans, as well as prohibited the smoking of cigarettes and having music on cell phones. In other words, they’re completely against all of the hipsters in Williamsburg, Brooklyn”
